"Originally, she just wanted a microrealistic sea turtle, but upon looking for references, I saw fish cleaning the carapaces of the turtles, and it inspired me to shape them into butterfly wings to further represent juhye's story of transformation and healing. In her submission, she wrote,"I went through a bad mental time during my sophomore year of college, and I finally felt healed and in control of myself during a reflection session while volunteering at a sea turtle rehabilitation center during my senior year with a group of strangers who became a group of trusted friends."
