Baba's influences range from the legend to the old school. Bob Shaw, Mike Brown, Jonathan Shaw, Jack, Ed Hardy, Jerry Collins to the entire SF tattoo scene (Eddy, Freddy, Grim, Paco, Adrian, Puente, Aaron Cain, Chris Garver, Capobianco, Bob Roberts.

Baba learned with Jonathan Shaw for a long time annoying him with a ton of questions, learning about placement, spacing, color theories, etc., moving back to LA and going to LA Tattoo, and learning more from the crew there.

Everytime Baba works a convention or do a guest appearance he learns from the people around him. Source
